ABOUT

Vero Glass & Mirror is a family-owned business that has been providing impact-resistant windows and doors to Vero Beach and the Treasure Coast since 1944. President, Daniel Beard, his son Derek  and Daughter-in-law Stephanie have assembled a team of knowledgeable and reliable personnel proficient in both commercial and residential sales and installation. Those who are not family members, are trusted long-time friends and co-workers that are considered to be like family.

We are a Florida State Licensed Glass and Glazing Contractor/Specialty Contractor (SCC131151280 / SCC131151782). We handle the entire permitting and installation process in house and do not use subcontractors. By eliminating the use of a subcontractor, you will always know exactly who is in your home. We stand behind all our work and therefore demonstrate great passion and commitment for each and every job.

MEET THE TEAM

Daniel Beard
President & Residential Salesman

Dan Beard has worked in the glass and glazing industry for more than 35 years. He has been state certified from the inception of state licensing in the glass and glazing field. His experience ranges from the installation of products to the sales and everything in between. Utilizing his extensive knowledge and experience in the trade, he purchased Vero Glass & Mirror, alongside his son Derek in 2015. Dan’s main focus now is on residential sales. He uses his expertise in windows and doors to provide customers exactly what they want, while assuring code compliance. Dan was born in Vero Beach and resides here with his wife Tina. He enjoys hunting, golfing and fishing, and just spending time with his family and friends.

Stephanie Beard
Human Resources & Accounting Manager

Stephanie was welcomed to the Vero Glass & Mirror team in May of 2016. Hired as the Accounting Manager, she also wears the hat of Human Resource Manager. Prior to joining Vero Glass & Mirror, Stephanie worked as an Administrative Assistant for 10 years with a property management company. This, combined with her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal studies and a natural affinity for excellent customer service, has given her invaluable organizational and administrative skills that are very valuable in this business. Stephanie has called Vero Beach her home for over 20 years. And, not unlike many other women choosing to live in Florida, she loves the beach and shopping. She resides here with her husband Derek.

Steve Sartain
Receiving Manager

Steve and his family moved to Sebastian in 1970 as his father was a commercial fisherman. Steve was one of the last students to attend Sebastian Elementary and was in the first class at Sebastian Jr. High School. Steve began his career in the glass industry at just 18 years old, working with a small glass company in Wabasso. There he learned about storefront installation, window service, mirrors and fixed glass. After meeting Daniel Beard, who at the time worked at another glass company in town, Steve was given an offer to join their team. Steve spent the next 29 years gaining expertise in the glass industry. Years later, Steve and Dan are working together again at Vero Glass & Mirror. With his over 34 years in the business, he is truly an expert in the business and an invaluable asset. Steve has four children of his own and two adopted children. His greatest achievement is being a good father and grandfather to his six grandchildren. His hobbies include gardening, boating and an interest in history of our area.

Derek Beard
Vice President & Field Supervisor

Derek is a State Certified Glass and Glazing Contractor and has more than 15 years of working in the glass and glazing industry. His experience in the field has given him a vast knowledge of all different types of products and their proper installation. This is key in his role as Field Supervisor. Derek strives to stay on top of all projects and ensures our clients are satisfied. Derek is a Vero Beach native who loves the outdoors. His favorite hobbies include hunting, fishing and golfing—and, of course, spending time with his high school sweetheart and wife, Stephanie.

Joe Heaton
Residential Sales

Joe Heaton is a Vero Beach native, having attended Dodgertown Elementary, Gifford Middle School and Vero Beach High School. He has worked in the construction industry for 10 years before turning his focus to concentrate in the window, door & glass trade for the last six years with Vero Glass & Mirror. One of the things Joe really likes about working with Vero Glass is the family-like, respectful atmosphere. When he is not working, Joe and his wife Michaela enjoy hunting, fishing and diving off our beautiful local beaches.

Kim Denning
Materials Manager

Kim joined Vero Glass & Mirror in November 1999 to help out in our fabrication shop. Her days typically included repairing broken windows, cutting glass and mirror, and occasionally going out in the field to assist in shower installations. In 2001, Kim transitioned into the office where she assisted retail customers, managed the shop employees, and scheduled the service crews. In 2002, she was promoted to her current position as Materials Manager. Her duties include ordering job materials, checking in materials received, and aiding the salesman with their estimating process as needed. With her years of experience and a wide range of knowledge, Kim is a great asset to Vero Glass & Mirror. Kim and her husband Jeff have been married for 29 years and have three children and a grandson. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
